Reactor design lines

A design line is a specific reactor product, not a physics family. Two AP1000s are interchangeable in a way that two pressurised water reactors are not — same fuel assembly, same vendor, same licensing basis. That is what makes design lines the useful unit for comparing build records and for tracing fuel supply upstream.

A further 179 model designations appear in the fleet data without a design page. Most are variant codes for a handful of families — Westinghouse loop counts, French CP and P4 series, GE BWR product numbers — rather than distinct products. They are shown on each reactor page as recorded, and their vendor is resolved where the designation makes it unambiguous.
