Bruce A, the first of the large Ontario CANDUs, built in two sub-batches that GNPT records separately. All four units were laid up in the 1990s and all four have since been returned to service after refurbishment, which is the strongest evidence anywhere that a pressure-tube reactor can be given a second life rather than retired. Bruce A shares its steam plant across units in a way no later CANDU repeats.
