White Mesa Mill

2,000short tons ore/day

White Mesa Mill is a mining facility operated by Energy Fuels in United States. It has a capacity of 2,000 short tons ore/day as of 2025, about 3% of world mining capacity.

Not a mine but the only operating conventional uranium mill in the United States, in San Juan County, Utah. Every American mine that is not an in-situ recovery operation has to send its ore here, which makes one privately owned mill a chokepoint for a whole category of domestic production. It also processes alternate feed materials and separates rare earths, so its throughput is not all uranium ore. Its capacity is stated in tonnes of ore a day rather than uranium a year, and the two cannot be compared without an ore grade.
