Olkiluoto VLJ repository

repository Finland operating

Olkiluoto VLJ repository is a repository facility operated by Teollisuuden Voima in Finland. Its capacity is not publicly disclosed.

Low and intermediate level waste about 100 metres down in granite beside the Olkiluoto reactors, operating since 1992. Finland has been disposing of waste underground for more than thirty years, which is part of why Onkalo on the same site was less controversial than a first repository would be anywhere else.
