Metropolis Works
Metropolis Works is a conversion facility operated by ConverDyn in United States. It has a capacity of 7,000 tU/yr as UF6 as of 2022, about 11% of world conversion capacity.
The only uranium conversion plant in the United States. Honeywell idled it in 2017 when conversion prices collapsed below cost, and restarted it in 2023 as the market tightened after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. For six years the US had no domestic conversion capability at all, the clearest illustration of how thin this stage is.

At the market indicator. 7,000 tU/yr of nameplate capacity, valued at US$ 65.00 per kgU spot, comes to roughly US$ 455 million a year, or US$ 389 million at the long-term indicator. Treat both as scale, not revenue: most volume moves under contracts signed years earlier at prices neither figure reflects, and nothing here is netted against the cost of producing it. The indicators, and forty years of history behind them, are on fuel market prices.
