Fusion devices appear in this dataset because Global Energy Monitor added the category in the August 2026 release, and are listed here for completeness. They are not fission reactors, share none of the uranium fuel chain, and are excluded from every fission statistic on this site. No fusion device has produced net electrical power for a grid. Fusion has its own section on this site, covering every significant project, what each has actually demonstrated as opposed to targeted, and the tritium supply problem that constrains all of them — a problem whose current answer is, unexpectedly, CANDU fission reactors.
