LM26 is a magnetised target fusion device run by General Fusion in Canada. It is operating. Like every fusion device built so far, it has produced no net electricity.

Achieved its first lithium-liner compressions in 2025.
Magnetised target fusion: a plasma is compressed by collapsing a liquid lithium liner around it with pistons. The liquid metal is also the tritium breeder and the heat transfer medium, which is elegant if it works. The company listed on Nasdaq in July 2026.
